Here's what the last 12 months of sales tell us about Hardin County. Typical sale prices are up about 2% from the year before.
About 621 homes sold in Hardin County over the past year. With 253 on the market at the end of September, that works out to roughly 4.9 months of inventory. That's close to a balanced market, which means buyers have real choices and sellers need to price carefully to stand out.
Market figures cover residential homes sold through the MLS from October 2025 through September 2026, pulled from Flexmls. “Typical sale price” is the middle of the monthly median sale prices for that period. Numbers are a snapshot, not an appraisal, and every home is different. Ask me for current numbers on your street. These Hardin County figures include homes listed in the MLS I use and may not capture every sale in the county.
I looked at homes that actually sold for $235,000 to $265,000 in recent months. Here's what that money typically got buyers in each area I work in.

| Nelson County | In Cox's Creek, mostly newer 3 bed, 2 bath homes around 1,400 sq ft. Out toward New Haven and Bloomfield, older homes with bigger lots, sometimes close to an acre. | $286,000 |

| Bullitt County | Usually 3 bed with 1 or 2 baths, about 900 to 1,250 sq ft, built anywhere from the 1960s to the early 2000s in Shepherdsville, Mt. Washington and Lebanon Junction. | $307,000 |
